Description:
Silver-white light metal. Soft.
Density:1.54 g/cm3.
Melting point : 839±2°C.
Boiling point :1484°C.
Valence +2.
Ionization energy:6.113 electron volts.
It is chemically active and can react with water and acid to produce hydrogen. A film of oxide and nitride is formed on the air surface to prevent further corrosion. When heated, almost all metal oxides can be reduced.

Application:
The main raw material for the production of battery master calcium (lead-calcium alloy) ,maintenance free storage battery materials and cable sheath,getters in electron tubes, the most effective desulfurization,decarburization , deoxidation(reductant) and impurity removal additive for molten steel and the main raw material for the production of calcium magnesium and other calcium alloys.Adding calcium aluminum alloy can improve the plasticity,calcium is a good oil dehydrating agent.
