Biocide DA-20 is a biocide for the control of bacterial, fungal and algal growth in industrial
water systems.It has the ideal properties of quick antimicrobial action and decomposing rapidly into
non-hazardous by-products.
Applications and Application Methods:
Biocide DA-20 is particularly suitable for use in the control of microbial growths
in pulp and paper mill process waters, cooling towers, heat exchangers and
air-conditioning systems. It can also be used for the short-term protection of industrial
products such as polymer dispersions, pigment and mineral slurries and wax dispersions.
Normal use concentrations are in the range 0.05 - 0.5% depending on the product
to be protected and the environmental conditions to which it will be exposed.
Compatibility:
If DA-20 is added at the same time as other preservatives, interactions may occur.
Separate analytical checks on the stability of the actives are therefore recommended in
such cases.
Prior to use, DA-20 must not be diluted or mixed with other raw materials which
could adversely affect the performance of the active agent. The material compatibility of
systems, e.g. the corrosion resistance of stockpiling, transportation and dosing equipment
should be checked individually before using DA-20. An increased risk of pitting
corrosion can occur with long-term or permanent contact on stainless steels. It is
therefore preferable to use plastic materials.
